Employer Immigration Issues
The immigration laws of the United States impose special burdens on all employers - whether
they employ foreign nationals or not. Employers need to be mindful of the potential civil and criminal penalties for
failure to comply.
Our purpose as a business entity is to covert our knowledge and experience into delivering the solutions our
clients need.
Corporate clients have unique needs and face potentially enormous liability if they fail to comply. In representing
our company clients, we strive to be the fence at the top of the cliff, not the ambulance at the bottom.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) headquarters stated in a memo dated April 30, 2009 that "The criminal prosecution of employers is a priority of ICE's worksite enforcement (WSE) program and interior management strategy." For this reason alone, employers must take the issue of immigration compliance very seriously.
